A visa used by foreigners who study in Indonesia for 1 year and can be extended annually according to applicable immigration regulations.
Procedure and Requirements
Procedure :
Procedures that must be filled by foreigners who wish to become foreign student in Indonesia:
- Candidate students submit applications directly to the intended university by attaching the required documents;
- If the candidate has been accepted by the University then the University will contact the candidate as well as send the letter of acceptance and of the sponsorship letter;
- Based on the letter of acceptance and of the sponsorship letter from the university the candidate can apply for a visa and a limited stay permit through the local Indonesian embassy;
- Attach the required documents;
- Taking care of study permit issued by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education through the person in charge of the intended university.
Requirements :
Requirements for foreigners who wish to become foreign student at universities in Indonesia:
- Meet the academic requirements to attend higher education in Indonesia;
- Has a source of financing to ensure continuity of education in Indonesia;
- Accepted by the university as a student;
- Hold a study permit from the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education;
- Hold a visa or residence permit in Indonesia; and
- Comply with the law and regulations in Indonesia and the provisions of the intended university
